tl;dr

An ironic take on the world of NFTs.

Market Wrap

I know it is a bit early for the CCC, but I am just too excited by the price action to sleep.

One day – probably not today – we will break $50k on the upside, and we will never go back there again.

Occasional Series – The pig cull

I am a little confused.

Some commentators seem to be getting angry that a lack of abattoir workers means that 120,000 pigs now need to be culled:

“Pig farmers have been warning for several weeks that labour shortages at abattoirs have led to a backlog of as many as 120,000 pigs left stranded on farms LONG AFTER THEY SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SLAUGHTER “.

One of the broadsheets yesterday, capitals and bold emphasis is all my work.

Occasional Series – That Facebook outage

I can’t see the problem of not having access to social media in any form, but the UK police have reported receiving 999 calls to complain that that Facebook is not online.

I do think some people need to develop a touch of perspective on life.

Curious Cryptos’ Commentary – Non fungible tokens (NFT)

This is just lovely.

New readers may not be aware of Larry’s much desired collection of NFTs. Feel free to browse:

(Any sales in the next couple of days, I take 20%, ok Lazzer?)

In a similar vein, Lauren Walker has built her own collection, announcing this fact on Twitter thus:

“i have stolen over 4 terabytes of NFTs via the little known hacker technique known as "right click -> save as". my collection has a net estimated value of over 8 trillion dollars”

In response her tweet has been screenshotted and minted as an NFT itself. The latest bid is 1.5 ETH, approximately $5,000:

Lovely.
