Crypto adoption remains firmly on track. The Ledger Flex is a welcome addition to my burgeoning stable of Ledger products.

I think all those naysayers who got their supporters excited about a return to $70k or lower after this week’s illiquidity enforced volatility should probably just, I don’t know, shut up perhaps?
Curious Cryptos’ Commentary – Crypto adoption
The Milk Road brought this graph to our attention today:
If you need persuading that the crypto revolution is going to be bigger and better than the internet revolution, then clearly you have not been paying attention to the CCC. If you have been diligently reading then you will understand the profound implications of this graph.
Curious Cryptos’ Commentary – Ledger Flex
The CC team are in total agreement that securing your crypto stash with a Ledger product is the most secure solution. Until recently, being equipped with a Nano X was the way to go with its enhanced memory allowing many more crypto interface apps to be stored, and its Bluetooth capability.
Just yesterday on Christmas Eve I received my very first Christmas present (from myself) of a Ledger Flex, one of the two new products from Ledger. At £229, plus an extra £35 for the aubergine coloured case, it isn’t an entry-level product. However, for a short time only it does come with $70 of free BTC, currently worth £56. Once BTC gets to $400k then the cost is below zero even without factoring in sterling’s now inevitable decline to dollar parity, and then lower.
Putting cost to one side, what of the product itself? Naturally, it seamlessly integrates with Ledger Live. If you are already a Ledger user, then setting it up involves the slightly annoying procedure of inputting your secret 24-work seed phrase, but hey, it’s proof that your seed security mechanics are all in order. Which in itself is no bad thing. If you are new to Ledger, then the procedure is easy enough, and very similar to setting up a Nano of any iteration.
It comes with a USB-C connection, which my PC does not have. My laptop does, and I can connect to my iPhone and iPad using Bluetooth, but I actually do a lot of my crypto work on my PC, so this is as annoying as every other time devices come with an upgraded connection protocol. It means I have to buy yet another new lead from Amazon.
The touchscreen is a huge improvement on the buttons used for all previous iterations of Ledger products, but its (under) sensitivity is taking me some time to get used to. If you are someone who takes care reading the message information before you sign a transaction, the Flex is a must-have in my opinion. If you don’t bother reading that information, and just scroll through to accept, then you will not be in a position to take advantage of the Flex’s key benefit over the Nano X.
If you decide you want to buy any Ledger product, feel free to use my marketing link which will reward me with $20 of BTC:
If you don’t want Ledger to have to part with $20, you know how to find its online store.
