3.7: How to Buy BTC and ETH — Binance

As an alternative to Coinbase, Binance is our next recommended centralised exchange. Its coverage of cryptos is so extensive it cannot be avoided.

Steps:

  1. Set up an account at binance.com. We strongly recommend enabling 2FA with Google Authenticator.
  2. Transfer fiat: Click Wallet → Fiat and Spot, search for your currency, and click Deposit. For GBP, bank transfer has a £1 fee; debit card has a 1.8% fee.
  3. Exchange fiat for crypto: The Binance trading screen is very similar to Coinbase Pro. Red numbers are offers (prices to buy), green numbers are bids (prices to sell).
  4. Move to your wallet — as always, move your crypto to your Ledger Nano X after purchasing.
