Your Coinbase account is also valid for Coinbase Pro — a more traditional exchange that is more complex but also cheaper, with more functionality including entry orders, stop-loss orders, and take-profit orders.
Once you gain familiarity with Coinbase Pro, you will never want to go back to the original simple Coinbase.
Transfer fiat: Click Portfolios → Deposit, choose your currency, and follow the bank transfer instructions. The first GBP deposit may take a day or two; after that, processing is measured in minutes.
Exchange fiat for crypto: Click Trade → Select Market, find your trading pair (e.g. BTC/GBP), and place your order. The order book shows live bids (green) and offers (red). The bid-offer spread is the difference between the best bid and best offer.
